This ankle brace helps but in my case there is a downside. I ordered the small according to the size chart and it fits perfectly everywhere except the top around the bottom of the calf. After some time of wearing, my calf hurt from tightness and a deep crease was left from the pleated elastic top. No way do I have what could be called large calves. This was actually the second pair I bought as I ordered the first pair in bulk and although they supported me they didn't squeeze me too much. The medium size fit much better and gave me really good compression and temporarily relieved the pain from plantar fasciitis on both feet. I wear them daily for 1-2 hours while running 3 miles. At week 3, the top of the sock began to curl up over the foot. This creates a binding effect that gives the impression of a wire cutting into the top of the foot.
