Maybe more isn't necessarily better.

This is a comparison of the Schick Quattro and Gillette Mach 3. I used Colgate Aloe shaving cream and shaved twice with the Quattro: once with a 4-day stubble, once with a 2-day stubble . Either way, the Quattro delivers an excellent shave on flat surfaces (down the sides of the neck and on top of the sideburns). On curved surfaces, the shave was comparable to the Mach 3 and required the same number of touch-up passes. I think this razor *might* be great for shaving your legs as long as you…

Not Quite Impressed

After I stopped joking about how razor manufacturers (Gillette and Schick) would continue to make razors with more blades than their rivals, I decided to take the Quattro seriously and bought him. In the end, since I liked Gillette's Mach 3 so much, I thought that of course if there was a difference between it and the Quattro, the Quattro would just be the best of the two. So far this has been a great razor. In recent years, I mostly had a short beard. I used cheaper Schick and Gillette razors with 3-4 blades back then when I wanted a close shave. I trim my beard with Wahl clippers and shave. Cheaper razors clog and always dull after the first shave. So far I'm still the first razor that comes with a handle. I started shaving clean once a week, touching up the edges with an electric shaver in between. After trimming my beard and shaving clean, this razor didn't…

Blades last 40% longer

I've used the Mach 3 and Quattro alternate days side by side for over 6 months. I had to change the blade to the Mach 3 well before I changed it to the Quattro. In this test, the Quattro lasted about 40% longer. This of course can vary, may not be as good in other trials, and judging when you need to switch to a new blade is subjective, but the difference was so significant that it seems to be beyond subjective and far outweighs 5% . or something added value. Before that I enjoyed using the…
