🚴 Optimized Schwinn Traveler Bike Helmet for Adult and Youth Sizes Review

I bought this helmet in October. I'm not an avid cyclist, but my boyfriend and I try to ride every Friday morning. I have to say this thing probably saved my life yesterday! I was in a collision with a deer - yes a deer and I was hit pretty hard - helmet sustained minimal damage - cracked front and visor ripped off - but the ambulance was sure I could have a serious brain injury, if I hadn't worn it. - So for the price - this helmet did the job and did it well!

Not the best helmet I've ever worn, but not the worst either. I bought it to replace a much worse one and it's been doing its job ever since. Ladies, take note – certainly don't expect this to allow you to wear any type of ponytail, no matter how small, unless you tuck it in the back of your head and let it loose. Great helmet, but maybe not for big heads. It fits my wife perfectly but my head is 23 1/2 inches in circumference for a size 7 1/2 hat. The helmet fits just about at maximum sizing, but to make it really comfortable on a long ride I had to remove the internal padding on the front and back of the helmet. This is now normal for my large head and I rarely notice any missing pads, especially after removing the Velcro points on the front that held the pad in place.

This is a very nice helmet that sits well on my head with a sufficiently long and adjustable chin strap for a comfortable fit. I have a small head but my husband tried it on with some adjustment and it fit him too. There are two places to adjust the fit: one on the back of the helmet. a handle that rotates to reduce straps/size inside the helmet and a chin strap. If you have a regular/large head, one of these silly pin hats will have you looking like a tea-time Brit. Otherwise, if you leave reviews that it's big, consider buying this helmet for a kid, geico gecko, or pea-sized head. A bicycle helmet should cover the front to a width of 2 fingers above the eyebrows. If I tilt it forward far enough for that; The entire back of the head has no coverage.
