This is a manufactured product with good tolerances. I had to dremmel the inside of the Mercedes ML320 tray a bit and cut out the stock radio rails, but that's not a problem with the Dremel attachment. Be sure to remove enough so the shaft doesn't compress the frame, otherwise the stereo will be difficult to pull out and the anti-theft devices may bind. No work was required on the visible parts of the dashboard. The Pioneer stereo fitted perfectly and now looks better than the original Benz.

If you own an ML Series truck like I do, you've probably been looking for a trim and dash kit. This is the only one I found and it's not that good. While it will hold a 2 DIN block firmly and snugly, the plating may not fit, as in my case. I have a 7 inch display and the bezel is not big enough to fit around my device.
