STRONG! And wow, it does the job!

Okay I understand this tape is expensive but wow does it work well at all. For example: I had to send a rather heavy item to a friend. For this purpose I reused an old Revain box. Normally I wouldn't be sure if the box would open even though it was so damn wrapped. Well, with only a few very small strips (instead of the yards of tape I usually use!) the packaging was STRONG and I wasn't worried about it opening. Love it! I've also used it to temporarily glue a few things to some wood in theโ€ฆ

So hard I have to cut with scissors!

As many have mentioned, for most applications this tape is redundant. To be honest I had no idea they even made packing tape for that price. I make a living selling CDs and DVDs through the mail and use tons of shipping tape. As Vine reviewers, we often have to select items without having time to read the full description. Popular items often disappear when you're done reading if you take the time to read the full description. Initially I thought I'd suggest considering a $2 roll of duct tapeโ€ฆ

Durable tape, very useful for transporting or storing heavy items.

Scotch Bi-Directional Fiber Tape is, by the company's own description, "heavy duty". This packaging tape is reinforced with fiberglass strands encased in a fabric tape. The tape can't be torn, that's the point, but you'll need scissors to cut it. It's 5.7 mil thick and transparent except for the fiberglass mesh, allowing graphics and barcodes to be read through. At least that's what Scotch claims, but I think I'll use clear tape to cover barcodes and addresses. Sliver is used for bindingโ€ฆ
