    Complete garbage! Good for tools and gear

    I tried using this Scotty rod holder attachment on my kayak, had 4 pulls and nothing snagged. Saved the bracket with nuts and discarded the rivets. I've used some cheap name brand rivets that cost half the price and came with o-rings and they all worked great. Paid too much for them to be rubbish.

    Expensive but good for tools and gear

    Worked very well to reattach the kayak handle when it was impossible to get to the back of the mount. I suppose you could split the outer shell cleanly 3 times on a regular rivet, but when you factor in the time and labor involved it becomes very good value! Best price I've found for these without buying 100 or more.

    makes it easy to install yak accessories when you can't get in to use nuts and bolts. Be careful. DO NOT try to rivet anything thick to the body while using them, they will not tighten properly and will pop out. I found this out the hard way, but it's not the rivets' fault. Recommend!

    Rod holders, paddles and rope clamps fell off my kayak leaving holes to patch

    I bought the recommended tools and these extra long kayak accessory rivets. I was very upset that I couldn't resist. A lot of wasted money on accessories on the shelf. I've used rivets in the past and followed instructions but they didn't hold up. Thin items held, but rivets weren't long enough for rod holders, clips, etc.

    Don't waste your money, don't waste your time

    A must have for your kayak - this really is the ONLY way to get your gear set up right - it's ready to go, don't waste money, time or energy on other types of Rivets (like the ones that come with a rivet gun or that you can buy at most hardware stores) - they'll pierce the plastic and ruin your deck or end up causing a lot of rework or repairs - don't worry.) This is what you're for require proper installation.

    Good rivets but they are "extra long "

    Good quality three jaw rivets. Bought these to attach grommets and hooks to my Jackson Big Tuna kayak where the paddle supports are molded into the top of the yak to hold the paddle in place. They work well, but be aware that they are very long - too long for this combination. Grip range is 3/8" to 1/2". They were so long that in this application they pulled past their normal snap point and I had to take a hacksaw and cut off the protruding stud. It's fine, my hook and eye is in place, but now…

    Pretty good rivets at bargain prices

    These are good rivets that may be needed in some special situations but their price is so outrageous that they should be of limited use when nothing else will work. The clutch works as described and provides a much stronger grip than standard rivets when opened from the back of the surface it is attached to. Don't go all the way through the hole. While they are longer than any standard triple grip rivets I could find, that's not enough to justify the 55 cent versus 10 cent price difference for…
