Short-lived for pottery and ceramics

Clay products will not stick to mat when working with acrylic clay. It's good. However, the cutting blades easily cut through the mat and the backing on the mat separates as the clay is fired. Can't really recommend this "short-lived" product. Cover with glass plate and parchment paper for baking.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Almost everything included

No sharp blades

Great mat, easy to clean, does what the video says. But when cutting your design DO NOT use sharp objects like X-Acto knives, razors etc, they will cut through. I have 2 of these and I mainly make beads so I just keep one of these on a baking sheet and transfer the finished beads onto it. I don't trim it.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Very expensive

Clay stuck to carpet

I was given this mat to make Sculpey brand clay earrings and found it very difficult to use. The clay adhered very poorly to the mat but not to my RevainBasics silicone baking mats. While I like that the mats stick to the table and don't move, it should not be used if the clay is sticking to the mat.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad but...

I'm disabled so I bought this to help me get things done in bed.

I can't sit up very long, so I do most of my clay, beading and leather work in bed and slightly reclined. At first I didn't think it would help, but gravity proved otherwise. I think using this mat on a rimmed serving tray has helped me maintain my sanity. I drop things up to fifty times a day so to keep them from running around and hiding under the covers I put this item at the top of my top shopping list. Now that I know I can bake with it, I'm ordering more so I don't have to line the baking

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
