I bought this unit to fix a design flaw in my Chaparral H2O 180. Basically it worked. This boat has a very heavy stern that causes it to get stuck and requires quite high speed to stay on the flat. Bought primarily to help with planing with a towed tool. Installed on a Mercruiser Alpha One 4.3 on a Baja Islander 180. Can't say for sure if it helps plan the boat at all. I can say that it definitely helps prevent cavitation on fast/hard corners. It has been noticeably improved. Not a waste of money but not the result I was hoping for.
