US external hard drive incompatibility

maybe I missed it in the description (and I checked again after taking it out and noticing it) but this unit has european plugs . I originally bought this because I've had very good luck with this brand, so I expect this one to be of the same quality.

Product does not work in America

Product comes with EU plugs. I can't use the product and Seagate Support will not fix my issue. So, I have no idea about storage capacity or portability. I have contacted the seller through Revain but have not received a response.

WILL NOT WORK out of the box in the US or CANADA. Must buy an aftermarket adapter!

The hard drive is great, plenty of space, but the power supply has two adapters, one for India and one for Europe. All users in North America need to purchase an AC adapter after sale. They are not expensive ($10-15$) but you will need them to use them. I chatted with Segate online and all they told me were product specs that I already had. A good half hour was spent on this. In any case, the drive is good, useless without an adapter when used in North America.

Power adapters outside the US

All reviews about the power adapter are correct. Right out of the box, it only offers European and Indian power adapters. I had to buy a separate adapter from Europe to America to make it work.

Country of origin Suitable for external hard drives

Received this item without knowing that it was sent from Europe, so the power supply was also European. Not too helpful here in the US. I had a spare adapter which luckily fitted, but it would be helpful to know the country of origin of all products. I gave this product 3 stars for the useless EU power adapter that came with it, other than that it's still a great external drive.
