Works with Smartthings plug

I bought this to protect the Samsung Smartthings plug for my outdoor patio lights as outdoor smart plugs are harder to find and a cheaper solution. The intelligent plug fits perfectly in the box and leaves enough horizontal space to the wall. Installation was easy and the box seems solid enough. Can be opened from the side or vertically and has cut outs on the side or bottom for more choices on how you want to use the Power Card.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Fits

Excellent exterior coverage

I set a high GFI for the interior light connector. The power pack for the lamps was so big that the one I installed as standard (on the left in the picture) was too small. So I bought it and it was great. Perfect size and big enough to hold the entire PSU (actually there are 2). I installed the old one next to it to shield the light controller from the rain. You can see how its size compares to the standard body. I can only recommend it and it looks sturdy.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Very deep. Ease of installation.

I have bought Intermatic and RedDot brand cases and they are easier to work with than any of the others. The depth is incredible. I use smart plugs and USB chargers in my outdoor outlets and they seem like the cheapest and very deep caps to me. Other brands don't seem to offer this deep coverage, and I can't seem to get others to work with my devices (which also have bulky ports). RedDot is a more durable product. The locking of this product is a little weak compared to RedDot. I would rate the

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Upgrade available

The only box big enough to hold the large ends of a 30A trailer extension cord. Can be installed upside down or sideways. I only gave it four stars because the box design doesn't have a cutout large enough to accommodate those large cable ends. With the appropriate tools, you can cut a hole in the bottom of the lid big enough to accommodate it. This is a headache that could have been eliminated with a box to house those cables. Overall it does its job very well!

  • Amazing Price

Perfect size for an electrician

I needed this to connect my camcorder to an extension cord. I reached through the concrete wall and went outside. I had to protect the place where the plugin is located from the very harsh Chicago elements. I used a dremel to slightly cut out the spine, just big enough to insert an extension plug. I then used the same Dremel to make a small cut in the underside of the plastic to route the camcorder cable to the camera itself. There are places for cutouts/holes for cables on the sides and bottom

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Some bugs

LOTS of space in the lid

So I got it a few weeks ago but just installed it yesterday. Everything went smoothly and there is a lot of space inside the cover. This part was especially important to me as it is the cover of the recipe. that feeds my septic tank pump. So there's a cord that plugs into the outlet and it's designed for the float in the tank, and the pump itself connects to that plug from the back. So when everything is connected you need a lot of space under the lid and this one has it. Smaller ones have too…

Pros
  • Proprietary design with multiple configurations, up to 18 configurations, be it GFCI, Duplex, Switch or Round
Cons
  • Legacy model

Deep enough for my Leviton Wetguard plug

I used this version of the socket cover because I have a Leviton 14W47 waterproof plug which is used for repairing cords with damaged plugs. I've tried other covers that might fit, but settled on this one because of the extra space. The plug is about 2-1/2" long and the cord that protrudes from it adds some length. As you can see in one of the pictures you lose space when the lid is closed and you actually have about 3-1/4." to shrink past in place of 5-1/4" inches. If you have a really long…

Pros
  • Socket, lock and socket not included
Cons
  • Slightly torn
