🔌 Sealproof Weatherproof Rectangular Exterior Industrial Electrical Outlet Review

I'm buying a standard offering from Lowes and Home Depot for a two post weatherproof box. But I decided to try this one since it was $4 cheaper ($10 vs. $14). I can't tell the difference. It works just as well as boxes from Lowes and Home Depot.

Bought three, totally happy with the all metal finish. I installed it ON a metal wall so I had to drill four mounting screws into the back panel, no problem. They are sturdy, perfect for the outlets I wanted on the outside wall of my shop building.

I had a lot of trouble installing this vessel. The biggest problem is that the screw holes break very easily. They collapse under any pressure. Also ground screw strips after initial assembly. I had to return the product but I wanted to finish my project so I did it.

Used to install controller for outdoor drain pump. We used it with this cover Taymac MM7440C-B All Weather Dual Outlet Cover Outdoor Outlet Protection Cover 4-3/8" Deep Clear and set up this exact installation with this pump controller. My only complaint is that it didn't have any holes to fit a single duplex socket in the middle.I know it's a 2 gang box but we needed a 2 gang box with only one for the oversized fork.We were able to do it with the MM7440C weatherproof cover for Getting it to…

This box comes with a variety of dowel holes to mount equipment and covers which is what I needed. It is much easier to use and more durable than outdoor boxes that require you to drill holes. Steel mounting plates are stronger than having to drill or screw into softer aluminum. You will need sealant to waterproof the 3/4 inch plug holes and you will need to drill holes to install the box. I used two switched outlets and a 12 gauge weatherproof cover and it came out pretty easily.

This product itself is of high quality. But the design just isn't comfortable. The holes are threaded, which I loved until I tried installing a pair. Once you have the line tight, you literally have to screw these boxes onto the line connectors. It's bad if you need to install in a specific place and make it perfect.
