Doesn't start reliably.

I recently bought a couple of these fans to cool parts on my 3D printer. I've spent about 5 hours troubleshooting (and I'm pretty good at low voltage DC systems, often on a large scale). I can say: these fans do not work. They don't work reliably with PWM from my 3D printer, regardless of the PWM frequency. They do not work reliably at 12 VDC. They don't work reliably. When they work, it seems random: Here I see two of them connected directly to the measured 12V DC supply. One of them…

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Low repairability

One was attached to the case Fan

One was used for the humidifier fan. It deflates so moisture can't get in, but it failed after about 10 days. The second has been running for a few months now. I would be wary of using this in a 3D printer or anything valuable, maybe I'm just unlucky. I've had a few in the past that failed a lot quicker due to single cheap bearings so it's not that bad. The other just went hunting for fans again.

Pros
  • Many will do
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Expensive but the quality is worth it.

Expensive? Yes. High quality? It looks like. Flexible voltage requirements? Oh yeah! Just plug them in and yes, and my 4 fans are drawing about 95mA each at 12V as expected. They can run up to 15V where they draw 50% more current but I don't. know how long they last. I have a 5V rail setup for a fan system and these little guys start at 5V and draw 50mA of current; about 25% power. As long as they are in the past I will be happy. Driving at reduced power should work fine in the long run.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Negative available

Works great for air circulation in trailer cabinets

I've had a problem with condensation in our trailer cabinets in cold weather (15 degrees) even with the cabinet doors left open and the dehumidifier running. I installed 2 packs of 40mm x 40mm x 10mm 4010 12v covered with a 40mm black grille/finger guard (pack of 2) and powered by a RioRand DC motor speed controller 6v, 12v, 24v, 28 B, 3 A, 80 W were controlled. This ensures that enough air circulates through the cabinets to solve the problem of condensation and is virtually silent.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Great fans for the money!

These are very fast fans. I use full 12 volts and they are a bit noisy but the amount of air they move is amazing. As you can see from the photos I am using them on a custom order part and they keep my radiator very cold. Let's see how long they last at his speed. But great little fans.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • No machine

Great replacement fan

I used this fan on my Raise 3D Pro2 printer. I got 2 fans for half the price Raze asked for their fan and they are more than twice as powerful. Shipping was faster than Raise, so I started typing again much sooner. Thanks to the additional cooling capacity, my Pro2 prints better than ever.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Some trouble
