TERRIBLE SLOW - MAC TIMEOUT AFTER 45 SECONDS.

This is terrible if you want a dual PCI-E SSD card in your 5.1 Mac Pro. It keeps freezing after logging in and has to be restarted with the power button. I'm using a dual boot, one drive is Mac OS and the other is Win 10. Win 10 doesn't get past the login screen. Looking for an alternative dual SSD card that delivers what it promises.

A good option for adding SSDs to systems, BUT.!

This is a great and convenient option for installing SSDs in a desktop or other system with no ports or drive bays. Drives are installed directly onto the card/bracket. HOWEVER, they DO NOT WORK on Dell servers. This is an incompatibility with the Dell server BIOS, not the device itself - this happened with two different PCIe cards on different Dell PowerEdge servers. (Check for reports of network problems. Please note that updating the BIOS will not solve the problem). However, a practical…

Two 5TB Seagate hard drives in the Dell R710 - hell yeah!

I installed a pair of Seagate 5TB drives (disabled https://amazon.com/gp/product/B01LXF3C7Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) in my Dell R710 security video storage enclosure ( blue iris). I installed two drives with the screws provided and powered on the system and both drives were ready to be formatted in Windows. I created a striped drive that gave me 9.09 TB of usable space between the two drives. Although I'm happy with the map - will update if there are problems.

Super easy to install

The adapter itself is very easy to install. I just installed the drivers first, shut down the computer and plugged it into the first PCIe slot. After a quick change of boot priority in BIOS, everything worked as expected! I haven't noticed any dips in load performance, and the ability to easily move it to another motherboard when I finally decide to upgrade is a huge plus for me. The only thing I can complain about is that instead of a black circuit board (like the promotional pictures) they…

Great way to add some SSDs to a system without cables

I was looking for an easy way to add some SSDs (also with the goal of performance) and bought this PCI-e postcard. All I needed was a screwdriver to connect drives. One problem I had with my Dell BIOS is that it doesn't show up as a bootable device initially. In a test, I only wanted to use one of the two drives as a Win 10 drive. To make this work, enable "Legacy Option ROMs" and it boots, but in UEFI mode I still get "no boot devices found". Press F1 to continue and the system will boot from…

Tested on an early 2008 Mac Pro

PROS1) Allows you to free two additional 3.5-inch drive bays on Mac Pro.2) Dedicated primary RAID 0 drive theoretically allows for longer life SSD services.3) I didn't have to use the included minidisk to install the card for my Mac Pro. It was plug and play CONS3) Initially it took my Mac about 1-2 minutes for my Mac to recognize the drives and even after recognizing them I had to wait another minute to access them to complete the RAID format Install a new RAID as primary boot drive…

Easy to use. If it works.

Maybe it's just that I've tried using this with unRaid and Ubuntu and not Windows, but I haven't had the best success with this device. However, it is delicate, to say the least. Sometimes it works if you install it. In other cases, you need to take out and transplant. And sometimes you have to reinstall it until it finally works. Adding discs was stupidly easy. Easier than fitting into any body or trunk - And what about the chassis itself? Spring. when it works, it works great. The computer…

STAY AWAY! on Computer Accessories and Peripherals

Due to the fact that the information on the various strings was placed in the Revain publication, it did not appear before I made the purchase. HUGE VS: PCIe Gen 2 x1 (again on different lines) Meaning: It advertises support for 2x SATA 6Gb/s drives, but what you actually get is MUCH LOWER! Context: you're always going to have overhead, so your BEST 6Gb/s SATA SSD will be around 550MB/s out of 600MB/s theoretically. Maxim, so you think that x2 with this card? NO! For some reason, instead of…

Good and Bad - Works on MacPro 2019, but WINDOWS DRIVER CONTAINS VIRUS

Just Received and Installed SEDNA PCI Express (PCIe) Dual 2.5" SATA III (6G) SSD Adapter (Extended Single Side Version ) SSD). I bought from Revain for less than half the price of Sonnet. My FIRST experience (15 minutes usage) with my MacPro Desktop 2019 is that unlike Sonnet Fusion it supports booting from both drives and seems to be as fast as Sonnet Fusion. Unfortunately, it's not all good news: the card appears to be cheap. This is not a full-size card, so it is not supported by the rear…
