Segomo Tools HW1600: Heavy-Duty 1600 lbs Manual Hand Winch with Two-Way Ratchet, 32.2ft Long Wire Review

After I put it to the test, this ratchet tool was utterly disappointing. It failed to hold the load and kept slipping off the tow, making the job even more frustrating. The only good thing about it is the low price, but it's not worth risking safety on the road. The quality is below average and not worth the investment.

Terrible crank hub design, the hub is inserted from the inside and keyed from the outside. The swedge didn't hold the hub for a lap. Had to drill a bolt and insert a wrench to hold the socket in place, it won't work without this mod handle, you don't need to mod a whole new item. Bad design. After I fixed it, it works fine now.

The handle does not go through the other rod of the optional handle and hits when rotated. I had to bend the handle to remove the bar, which wasn't easy. There isn't much metal there as the hole is at the end of the handle. I also had to open up a hole in the handle with a Dremel sander so it would fit properly on the posts. Otherwise it works, the line is very stiff and unwinds easily but I need it to pull my heavy boat down river when loading my boat. I would still recommend it to others.
