Connection with accessories

I bought a pair of Sena 20s headphones so my girlfriend and I can talk (she doesn't have a Softail CB radio like my Ultra). The 20th requires this interface device to communicate with the road captain via CB radio when riding in a group. 20s connects to Freewire via Bluetooth. A cable connects the Freewire to the Ultra's headset port. Once synced, the audio comes right through.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Functionality

Wireless also has its downsides.

Expensive, but the dose corresponds to the declared. Works as stated. The assembly is normal, but I would like a better assembly system. Now you have to charge it every night. (Charger is NOT included)! The cables require no battery or charging. Just remember that there is a trade-off.

Honda non HD for Bluetooth headsets

Product in HD packaging, HD case arrived. But with Honda firmware. So it is not updated. I spoke to Sena several times, they couldn't understand the problem and kept giving me HD software update which caused the update program to fail. After receiving an email directing me to download the same HD software update from a different server, I returned Freewire. If for some reason I can actually get the HD version I will buy another one.

NOT required for Road Glide 2019 - at least in my case

Product works and I agree. Sena headset with Boom Harley radio system via Bluetooth - for example to be able to move songs up and down using the steering wheel controllers. I drilled holes in my fairing to carefully insert the stupid CB joint which they don't tell you is a requirement of this product. I plugged this guy into a CB jack and it seemed to work. Then one day I uninstalled it and guess what, my headset still worked. Not sure if adding the Harley OEM CB connector caused anything, but…

Haley 7 pin DIN cables are terrible.

I bought Freewire in December 2018. I couldn't get the device to work at all and was finally able to get a replacement from Sena. This one has been working fine since 2019, but this summer (2021) I lost the ability to use bike voice commands. I had an old DIN cable from the first Freewire and tried it. There was no sound and voice commands didn't work either (I now believe it was a cable issue with the original Freewire). Since I'm not having any audio or voice issues communicating with the…

Very impressed good for accessories

I recently bought a cavalry helmet and loose wire at the same time and have been using them for two weeks. I have a 2017 HD Ultra Limited. The installation went almost seamlessly. I installed the Freewire in the Harley's rear trunk and routed a wire under the seat to connect to the 7th connector. I haven't figured out the performance of the Freewire yet, but I don't mind leaving it as is and charging the Freewire when needed. The cavalry helmet is larger than I expected. Before buying I look…

Works great - got back to using my boombox!

A dream come true! Works great on my 2015 Harley Ultra Limited. Be sure to update the firmware before attempting to use it. Battery lasts all day (I don't have a charger while driving but I recently bought a Sierra Adapter Harness for it, a cable that runs from the bat wing under the tank and back to the back box where it can be permanently attached to the charger - have not extended this cable yet). Checked CB, radio, telephone, etc., everything works properly. It's so great that my boombox is
