Great for voiceover work

If you are reading this review you either don't know what you are looking at or you need a nudge to spend your money. Go for it. I've been a fan of the TLM103 for years, but this 416 is rich and dreamy. Combined with a whisper room, you'll be ready for prime time

Can be misused.: Microphones and accessories

There is no need to discuss best in class, superiority, etc. Everything is well described. This microphone can withstand abuse. I've dropped it, moved it constantly, always been beaten up, grabbed and traveled with it and never feared damaging it. Other $1,000 large-diaphragm condenser microphones should be treated like a Fabergé egg. I don't, but others use this mic on the go in humid, wet weather etc. Like it.

Industry standard for microphones

Funny how FakeSpot downgrades this when all the reviews are 5 stars. When you enter a recording studio, sound stage or film set, you will probably see this microphone. It's the industry standard for film, television, and voice acting. If you are a pro or want a professional sound, this microphone is a must have. Anyone who claims otherwise probably belongs to another manufacturer. Of course, this isn't the only microphone, but it's definitely one of the first on the list. Pair it with…

An absolutely amazing mic worth every penny for a serious mic.

Absolutely amazing microphone, worth every penny for the serious director or artist! I've had mine for about a month now and have used it on several documentaries in different environments. Since this is technically very sensitive, you have to pay close attention to the correct setting of the recorder and provide wind protection. But that's what you get with any quality microphone. I plan to use this mic for 10 years and think it will continue to perform well.

  • Quality construction

Shotgun microphone shoots straight ahead

Exceptional features. From the moment I bought it, I realized that if you want to gain a competitive edge in the voiceover industry, you need to have one of these villains in your arsenal. Voiceover is a tough world and the first thing potential clients notice is your studio sound. If everyone is equal but your studio doesn't match the competition, you won't get the job. So don't think of it as giving up the great. Think of it as an investment that can pay off with just one job. After that with

If you can't afford a BMW. don't go and buy one. Cheaper microphones can work just as well. However, there is one particular sound that makes this mic one of the best. You can't reproduce its sound without seriously adjusting the EQ to your current mic, and that takes some time and skill. Yes, there are better microphones, there are worse ones, but the MX-416 is unique. Thanks to this, I don't have to bother with post-processing the file. I just record, edit and broadcast. It's just worth it! - Microphones and accessories

as an Arabic speaker who records in his home studio, I really found this microphone to be the best among all the other alternatives, why? It's just that in an average home studio the level of isolation/acoustic treatment isn't great and this mic can give you good results even if you don't have a well processed environment compared to the SM7b or other dynamic mics this mic is a Condenser mic with low noise floor (if it has one) not gain hungry so no need to buy extra tools to increase the gain…

Sennheiser MKH416-P48US vs. Audio Technica AT-8035

I changed my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars after hearing the review multiple times. The extra bass sounds better after you listen a little. I could EQ the AT-8035, but I'll keep the 416 and use that. Much more expensive but as I've been listening more the mic has a richness that really enhances the sound. My review below was BEFORE I decided to leave the mic. I received this mic in a few days and just tested it. I use a gun mic to record episodes with Coach Bronner. The 416 is a great mic BUT…

Think it's out of your budget? think again

I only use this mic for voiceovers. I bought this microphone with little hesitation. What was I afraid of? qualitative? No, I was afraid of getting a fake. When the mic arrived, the serial numbers were inexplicably obscured by small white stickers. I can't imagine the purpose, so I contacted Sennheiser with a serial number. Not only did they confirm the authenticity of the microphone, they also confirmed that Revain is an authorized reseller. I even got the date of manufacture and the original…
