It's a fantastic sound. That means a good microphone

In general, I blew up on the first day. I connected it to a small mixer with phantom power at 1.5 and 48 volts. Imagine MKE200 didn't like 48V. But. I liked the microphone so much that I immediately ordered another one. I have never heard any other microphone with such a quiet sound. Buy this!

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • A few minuses

There is hair loss, but the design is the best!

Great design, compact and beautiful. Sound quality is ok, needs some EQ and I think there are cheaper sound alternatives. Take Propecia. But other than that, the design is really the best among other gun mics. very compact for all cameras. Minimum!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Security

Meets my needs

I bought this microphone to use with my Sony A7S3. I needed something very flat and it fit just like it should. The sound isn't as direct as the MKE 400, but it's ideal for capturing sound in a run-and-gun situation. A little "tinny" means less bass than we'd like, but some settings are okay. I use the microphone for interviews or sound bites.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Sennheiser for the win

High-quality materials and construction of the microphone, telephone adapter and tripod. Provides ease of installation and maneuverability of the rig. As for the mic, I think it sounds really good and I've listened to a lot of competing reviews. A plus point is the integrated wind protection. I'm scratching my head about installing a fluffy case hence 4 stars instead of 5 but it's effective. I find the front placement of the cable socket works well and don't want it placed in the back like some

Pros
  • High-quality workmanship
Cons
  • Negative impression

Video uploaded comparing Sennheiser to Rode Videomic Go. Very disappointed in Sennheiser. I expected better sound quality from them. It's overly sensitive, you're constantly picking up background noise, and it's a very tinny sound with an emphasis on treble and no bass at all. Videomic is a much better option for content creators. Much more natural sounding. I was really hoping that the Sennheiser would be better as I think it fits the camera better cosmetically. The Rode Videomic Compact is…

  • Great for a small home

Nice design, good build quality, affordable price and NO red wires :)

Pros: - Innovative design, love the idea of an internal shock absorber and windscreen. Overall smaller and nicer than the Rode video microphone. - The built-in windscreen works well, most of the time I don't need the windscreen. Also the windbreak is very soft/comfortable and fits perfectly, the dead cat of my trip dangled and fell off a few times. - Audio recording is louder than Rode Videomicro. - Beautiful blue/turquoise TRS and TRRS cables with locking mechanism. Disadvantages: - It's…

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • So far so good

This is one of four (4) mics I've tested including the Rode Wireless Go, Boya and Movo, all of which claim to be compatible with smartphones when using a TRS-TRRS adapter. I literally spent hours trying to figure out why Sennheiser is NOT continuously recording sound when recording videos on my Samsung NOTE 20 Ultra (2020). Use the exact same 3.5mm to USB-C adapter. The other three mics delivered consistent performance, but this one was particularly disappointing. Sometimes he would record but…

Pros
  • Handy
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Stick with the MKE-400

After using the Sennheiser MKE-200 microphone on my Sony a6400 for two days I was overwhelmed and at times downright disappointed. Especially since the Sennheiser MKE-400 (which I've been using for many years) is a fantastic microphone. You would think that a reputable company like Sennheiser would make a better product even for a budget microphone. The biggest problem is that the MKE-200 is just a cardioid mic encased in a mini airship-like plastic windshield, it's not a dedicated shotgun…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • So-so
