If you have hearing problems, that's the only thing that makes me happy. I've had hearing aids for years and watching TV has been a real disappointment. Even though I have state of the art hearing aids, even with an extra hearing aid plugged into the TV and then through my hearing aids, the sound was never clear enough. I bought them knowing I had 30 days to return them. As soon as I put them on I knew I was going to keep the item. This is the first time I've enjoyed watching TV in years and I…

New TVs require a D/A converter

Great product. I've been using it for over two years and it still works well. I didn't like the soft rubber earplugs. The light foam ear shape is much better for me. The only downside is that the device only accepts analog stream. The new televisions do not have an analog output for Sennheiser. Revain offers several digital-to-analog converters starting at $12. I bought Musou Digital Optical Coax to Analog RCA Audio Converter Adapter with fiber optic cable. Works well. Some difficulty getting…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Annoying

Best for TV Hearing aid

This is the fourth pair of hearing aids of this type that we have had in years. We started with the TV Ears brand - don't waste your money on that - and then moved on to the Sennheiser line. The first was the IR version, which requires you to be in front of the base to receive the signal. Not so useful if you want to move around. This is the second pair of SET 840 headphones we have. They use RF (radio frequency) transmission, so you can usually be anywhere nearby and get a signal. Sound with…

Pros
  • Large selection

Early disappointment - later added update

I bought this set in April 2014 and have been happy with it for about 18 months; suddenly the receiver went off. I contacted Revain and sent the receiver back to the manufacturer - a few weeks later it came back either replaced or refurbished (no explanation or communication accompanied the return) and was working fine again until 2016 - just over a year after the repair/ Substitute. . Then, for unknown reasons, the receiver switched itself off again. It was too expensive to even replace the…

I love my Sennheiser TV Assist!

I've been using TV-Ears for a whopping ten years now. Only ten years actually. Suffering only occurred when TV ears broke, which was a common occurrence. I've owned at least three TV ears in that time, which I don't think is too bad, but I have the same poor customer-centric design and marketing quirks of TV ears. I never imagined the dramatic difference in quality you could make by paying just a little more for what immediately stands out as the best TV hearing aid I can imagine! Sennheiser…

ALL YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED (HOPE!)

Bought this a few years ago and had to give it to my 104 year old mum so she could watch TV. She is very hard of hearing and cannot wear a hearing aid. I missed them so I just bought a second set. There are so many questions about this product that I thought I should write a review that will answer most of them. This device consists of a headset and a base station. The headset includes a removable battery that is said to last up to 9 hours. Place the headset on the base to charge the battery…
