This is cheap felt, cheap thread and very cheap plastic needles. My daughter struggled with this as the felt stretches, the yarn is tangled, extremely poor quality, I do not recommend it. We would have been better off using thick felt and high quality embroidery thread, which is what I expected.

Really good activity for a five year old. You must have some knowledge of hand sewing, otherwise the instructions would be too vague. We had hours of fun with great chills and creating projects together. Easy to correct mistakes, teach and let kids work on their own with a little practice

Expensive idea. Good introduction to sewing. Poor instructions (just a few pictures) if you care how they come out. I had to rethink how to define the front and where to start and plan ahead and they would go well. Instead I opened them up with my three grandchildren (3,5,7) jumping in. One turned (was not well identified). One started in the wrong place (didn't figure out where to start) so I had to cut the yarn and then sew the other side. The 2 were a hot mess and disappointing for the kids.

This was a Christmas present for my 6 year old girl who was asking to learn to sew. She immediately got to work after receiving her gift and she loves it.
