They are made from flame retardant Pyrotex fabric which is an excellent safety feature in busy kitchens. The best thing about these mittens is the extra long, wide thumb grip in the middle. Usually it was my other mittens that broke first and this feature of the Ritz mittens makes a big difference. The yellow Kevlar thread is also one of the strongest!

Washed like all new items. Also, the instructions say they can be washed. Well, now my dryer is full of crap that fell off my mittens. I don't know what it is but very disappointed. The dryer is quite difficult to clean as this stuff sticks to the metal interior. I have no idea how thermally safe these things are going to be now.

I bought these mittens because of the 16 inch length and never figured all other sizes would scale up proportionately. They might fit a gorilla or a bear, but I can literally wear BOTH hands and forearms in a single glove, and I'm not exactly a delicate flower. Construction/material quality doesn't match the price either.Quality for your money.

These are the best potholders that stand up to repeated abuse in the kitchen. The seam is durable and does not let heat through. The unique design between the thumb and forefinger makes them really durable as they don't wear out like a regular oven mitt whose seam starts to tear after prolonged use. The 13 inch length is perfect for a quick slip to lift hot pots off the stove or take pans out of the oven. Definitely an excellent set of oven mitts to have on hand!

I wanted a strong and fireproof pot holder. I love that you can use these oven mitts from the oven to the grill. You always have to be careful with the open flame of the grill, so that's ideal. The 13" also fits a bit over my wrist so it's extra protection for me as I always burn my wrists/arms. I also noticed that you can use the gauntlets on either hand so you don't have to worry about which hand to match when you need to grab one quickly.

I often burn myself removing food from the oven. This potholder is 24 inches long and comes up to my elbow! My husband can comfortably use it even on his arm. It is flexible and provides extra protection between the thumb and forefinger (the part of the glove that touches hot pans). I am very happy with this extended pot holder from RITZ. The mitten fits well to the middle of my shoulder! It protects me when I'm working on a hot grill or taking food out of a hot oven. I am happy and confident that I will no longer accidentally burn myself on a hot surface! They were packaged very well, even in the event of damage in transit. They appear to be very durable and will last a long time if kept clean. The hanging hook is convenient to stay with the grill and the other is inside.
