The stains are GONE! fabric without damage. The sheets are very light brown so I don't know if darker fabrics will fade. The 7th generation changes the labeling and packaging to a new look, but the goods seem to be the same. All our local stores were sold out so I ordered from Revain. I absolutely need a prewash spray but want to avoid the harsh toxic chemicals found in the Shout, Zout, Resolve and Spray-N-Wash. These brands work well and are probably a bit stronger than these, but I've also found that they can leave stubborn stains, especially if I leave them in my clothes for too long.
