This presser foot was exactly what I was looking for. I already have a similar 1/4" presser foot without the fabric guide (Bernina #97 ), but this one works much better for me. I am an experienced seamstress but new to quilting. With this presser foot I can sew more even seams.

You don't have to change the position of the needle. The foot is designed to start the needle in the middle position. The edge cutter makes bending corners easier by providing a 1/4" seam and eliminates the time spent setting a 1/4" seam allowance. When using the standard 1/4 inch seam allowance foot I have to remember to move the needle position to the right. Then I take a ruler and measure to make sure I have the correct needle position.

Bernina packaging with Bernina instructions I have a Bernina B590 machine and am struggling with a 1/4 inch accurate seam since I bought the machine I even spent about $90 at a sewing store to get a 97D with a guide that didn't work This foot also places the needle on the edge of the fabric so you don't have to go back those few stitches All of my seams are now 1/4" and my quilt squares fit together without struggling with the seam.
