Works well on Janome 10001

I have used this foot on my Janome 10001 machine and free motion quilting machine along with a 5mm template. It worked for me with two different templates. I had to keep my leg tightly twisted to work.

There is no mention of the side cut, nor have I seen any other review.

I've been struggling with the damn thing ever since I ordered it. My car is listed in the description - it doesn't suit me. This breaks the thread and creates tension. I can put the needle in the middle. but it is not centered front to back. Absolute disappointment!

But it works.

The photo does not show that there is a cut on the side of the foot. Apparently this is done to make it easier to insert the thread into the circle of the foot. However, if I embroider in the most convenient direction for me, diagonally from left to right and forward, due to the location of the slit, the thread gets caught in this slit, tears and knots, forcing me to stop and select stitches and rethread the machine. Unfortunately I have to send it back because the leg doesn't have a side slit.
