This book is the best guide to give someone a very solid foundation in 'Basic Sewing'. I read this book cover to cover with my pens in hand. The book clarified so many things for me that I just wasn't sure about. I consider myself a self-taught handyman and when I got this I found my wonderful book Transition to Work! I highly recommend this book to all of you who need a refresher and a basic explanation to give you some much needed confidence!

This is a very thoughtful, artistically designed book with beautiful, colorful illustrations. This is a good book for beginners and those with some experience. I bought this book for my granddaughter as her 'first' sewing book. I like the balance between teaching the basics and good introductory projects that don't get "stupid" when sewing kids. Clear pictures, good instructions and easy reading. After looking through several sewing books I figured this would be best for a beginner but not too difficult.
