Great inexpensive cable.

This wire is clearly high quality and was thick enough for a small speaker project I was working on. The color of the wire is not gold, but light copper, only the color balance in the product photo is wrong. The wire's sheathing is nice and thick, but doesn't affect flexibility. I'm pretty sure they used their oxygen free copper as well as it hasn't lost its luster since I bought it.

Pros
  • Wire: High copper CCA
Cons
  • Some difficulties

I bought these to use with surround speakers. I needed to run cords around a wall in a fairly large living room, so I needed at least 40 feet of cord. I read somewhere that I need at least 16 gauge cable to carry a stable signal 25 feet, so I bought this 14 gauge cable knowing I would need at least 40 feet. The wire materials are very strong and the plastic surrounding the cable is transparent very strong plastic. Those are really heavy thick wires.

Pros
  • Number of cores: 50 cores
Cons
  • Minus present

Very good well marked wire at a reasonable price.

Sewell produces very good quality cables at a very competitive price. One of the most important things to consider when installing large home speakers is the thickness of the cable used. For the average user with bookshelf or 5.1-channel surround speakers, 16-gauge cable can get by. However, if you're using heavier-duty amplifiers (150W or more, dual-channel), you may need thicker 14- or even 12-gauge -Wire. The thicker the wire, the better it withstands electrical loads. Another thing I likeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Twist Type: Multi-Twist, Rope Twist
Cons
  • Vulgarity
