Review on πŸ”Š Sewell 14-Gauge Speaker Wire, 50 ft: Enhanced Audio Performance for Optimal Sound Quality by Amanda Ellis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good well marked wire at a reasonable price.

Sewell produces very good quality cables at a very competitive price. One of the most important things to consider when installing large home speakers is the thickness of the cable used. For the average user with bookshelf or 5.1-channel surround speakers, 16-gauge cable can get by. However, if you're using heavier-duty amplifiers (150W or more, dual-channel), you may need thicker 14- or even 12-gauge -Wire. The thicker the wire, the better it withstands electrical loads. Another thing I like about the Sewell wires is that they clearly indicate the positive side with an easy to read red stripe. Beware of brands that have little or no branding! You don't want the speakers to be out of phase by accidentally swapping the positive and negative wires.

Pros
  • Twist Type: Multi-Twist, Rope Twist
Cons
  • Vulgarity
