These works great to prevent falls on icy surfaces. However, the spikes are easily breakable. I literally have used the crampons two times to walk down a long ice covered driveway to pick up mail. Already, one of the spikes was broken and needed to be replaced. The crampons came with 4 extra spikes but I doubt that will be enough.

Purchased to keep from sliding down our driveway with the snowblower, but every tiny spike fell out of the holder and became projectiles in the snow. If I had enough pieces to return, I would. But all I have is the rubber shell and no grippers.
