Excellent VHF emergency antenna.

Excellent. Raising the mast on the halyard resulted in good clearance when left vertical. Also, a hand adapter was used and really increased the distance by simply holding it with one hand while using the hand with the other.

Pros
  • audio and video accessories
Cons
  • boring packaging

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Short term solution, long term stock.

The coax cable running up the inside of my mast lost its center connection and the mast had to be lowered to install new cable. As it's mid-season in the Northeast I don't want to do it now so as expected the range is less than the mast mounted antenna but I can still get 2-3 miles with this antenna at deck level.

Pros
  • Radio antennas
Cons
  • New competitors appeared

Pros
  • Accessories and consumables
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
