🛠️ 9 Piece Shankly Axle Nut Socket Set for 3/4" Drive Axle Review

Imagine my surprise when I unpacked the heads (individually in oiled bags) and put them back into the recesses in the plastic case (they wobbled in transit) and found two heads that were marked 32 mm. . But one seemed a little bigger than the other. So I measured them with a micrometer and indeed one was larger and there was no market for 33mm as it should have been. So my guess is that one of those sockets labeled 32mm is actually a mislabeled 33mm socket. So 4 stars.

I was hoping for this but I had to send it back as I noticed problems immediately after checking it. The bushings have a very loose characteristic at the end of the bushing (see pic with micrometer). On the drive side, the 3/4" squares are off-center on several bushings (see pics - they're the outermost ones). As others reported, mine had rust film and different fonts, but I was able to work with that. What I couldn't work with were the off center drive squares and loose head ends on impact…

This seems to be one of the best deals available on metric axle nut sockets. 9 pieces with a gap (37 mm). The black oxide finish looks rough and the size is marked on the terminals so they might need to be re-labeled somehow if used heavily. Drive side and drive side are beveled very nicely and there don't seem to be any sharp edges. The case is made out of cheap blow molded plastic and looks pretty thin.
