Has a dent on the edge of the lid as if someone tried to pry it open with a screwdriver, strangely I've seen some other reviews with the exact same dent. But I bought it for my 6 year old to play with, so that will do.

Good price for the product. Not super fancy, but decent stock quality, no plastic. It really works. Good for boys who get bags and emergencies. Well packaged, sent on time - item tracking was available, I always like to have it updated. I would recommend this for use or a bug bag.

Nice feel and it still works around the house. With a compass, you'll have to take it with you to really test its performance. Remember: if you are in a car, train, plane, etc. close to the engine, motor or electronics, you will not get the correct result. It will always be pointing at something and creating a magnetic field stronger than Earth's.

Don't exaggerate but my husband has NO sense of direction. When it arrived I took it out of the cheap looking box and put it in the little velvet pouch I had the ring in - who else's? - Revane. The compass itself is gold and very beautiful. So I taught my husband to face north, which puts the Atlantic on his right, the Pacific on his left, and south to Florida, Texas, Mexico, and South America. Hopefully he doesn't need it, but this information never hurts!

Nice little compass. Pretty good for the price. It works. Points north. Otherwise I would not have given a single star! The glow-in-the-dark feature seems pointless as you would have to put it in bright light just before you would use it. But I like the retro style. Got this for my 9 year old when they were recreating the Oklahoma race at school. It was bought for props rather than actual use, but I still feel like it was overpriced and if I bought it for actual use I wouldn't be happy with it. Do not hold or pull when attempting to open the case. 2] Opens easily by holding the compass at the bottom and lifting the cover at the offset.
