This holder does not fit the Sm58 microphone although it is marked on the packaging. This only applies to small microphones, not larger diameter models. The photo shows that this does not apply to the microphone rod and I made sure that the model was clearly visible.

I used a standard plastic mic clip with a tripod. It makes more sense, looks better, and offers better acoustic isolation without a bulky muffler. Perfect fit for standard shank SM58. Some others have mentioned that it doesn't fit this mic, but they just used the capsule with the wireless transmitter base.

This dampener is very effective in eliminating noise and vibration from the stand. I use it with a SM58 on a desktop stand and it removes all unwanted noise. The price is also very good. A small note: the microphone sags a bit in the shock mount, since it is a relatively soft rubber ring. This does not result in any side effects on the sound, but the microphone does not sit flat in the holder.

I saw a review from a person who said it didn't fit and I was a little hesitant to order. Upon closer inspection of this photo, the buyer has a fake Shure microphone. I don't know why every '58 doesn't come with one. They provide excellent isolation from most shocks and can withstand the impact of mic stands.
