Shure BLX288/PG58 Wireless Microphone System: Double Performer Set with Dual Channel Receiver and Handheld Transmitters Review

Unfortunately I decided against my better judgment and purchased this product after reading the warnings that the transmitter was missing from several purchases. Bad luck. I received the set on time and it was great, but it didn't have a transmitter or cable so it was all useless. My Amazon customer service rep went out of their way to fix things. She tried to send me a transmitter to make up for what was missing from the set. I would not recommend buying this product.

I've been using this system with a Yamaha mixer for weekly karaoke for a few months now. 100% reliable connection - the receiver has an auto-scan function that selects the channel with the least interference. I never experienced any interference no matter what channel I used (model J). Also, I even contacted Shure and they told me the best channels to use in my area. Good quality microphones, light, clear, good battery life.

We have been using this system for a year with no problems and the other even longer. We have two BLX88 receivers in two buildings about 200 feet apart and are usually set to the same channels so we can swap mics quickly (we don't usually use both systems at the same time). The receivers are high up (10-15 feet off the ground) and the mics will actually work through walls at that distance! This set is a good quality product. However, there are some limitations that you should be aware of. The handle's plastic body produces a sound that is picked up by the microphone when struck or roughly handled. It simply means that you need to be aware and be careful with it when the mic is on. Signal strength isn't as strong as I expected, but it's fine for a medium to large room (our room seats about 150 people) with no obstructions. We mainly use these mics for speaking (works great) but…
