We needed a pulpit mic for our church and this mic caught my eye. The base is heavy enough to hold in place and the quality of the materials is very good. The sound quality is excellent and it was the perfect solution to our problem.

Shure makes great microphones. I buy them for our church quite often. Really good quality. For this last purchase, I needed a gooseneck that could wrap around the pulpit's reading platform. After much searching, I was delighted to find this Shure product, with its fully adjustable gooseneck, described as "a whole new meaning of flexible." First let me remove the 'warning' - this is an 18 inch model and looking back I would love to get the 12 inch version. I have this mic on my desk and this 18" version actually positions it perfectly in terms of acoustic pickup, but it makes leaning on the desk to rest your back more difficult - the mic is too close to yours Face what is a little uncomfortable psychologically.
