A good quality product, I rate this purchase perfectly.

Some pros: Good reliable vocal microphone. Suitable primarily for concerts or rehearsals. Condenser-type microphones are more commonly used in studios. Has some cons The price is high nowadays, but this is a consequence of the current exchange rate of the against the dollar and the euro.

Avoid cheap doubles! This microphone really works!

I'm the announcer for the local high school baseball, football and basketball teams. Always used cheap fake mics given by school. What a difference to the Shure SM58S! Significantly improved sound quality! The crisp, clean quality of the vocals will outshine the rest. My favorite feature is the built in pop filter, it really works, especially when the crowd is raging and I have to keep the mic close to my mouth! Highly recommended!

Pros
  • You look great

Mickey's are great. You look beautiful

Picked up for live vocals. Mickey's are great. They look good, feel good and sound good. The best way to describe the Shure SM58 is that they are reliable in every way. They're not amazing at anything (except maybe durability?), but they're reliable at almost everything. I would say these mics are the industry standard. You can't go wrong with them. My only advice is that you buy it from a reputable seller as there are many fake Shure mics out there.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Is this the best vocal mic? nope But that's perfectly fine unless you're singing an opera or something with really exceptional dynamic range. And let's be honest: is your voice really developed to sound better with a better microphone? It's definitely not mine. There's a reason probably 90% of touring musicians have used them over the past few decades, and it's not because they break easily and sound terrible. defend yourself from would-be burglars in an alley behind the bar where your band was

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Hands down, best microphone!

Very happy with the purchase! I considered this mic for years and finally decided to pick it up after reading more about it. I sang and recorded and was frustrated when I noticed hiss/distortion during playback when playing big high notes and lacking the warmth and nuance I was sure of. I tried this mic for the first time last night and it captured everything perfectly! My voice sounded the way I felt and heard it sing! And the mic I use, a Pyle I bought about 5 years ago, had some rave reviews

hammer microphones. It should be in your tool box.

A very durable quality mic that will last almost forever even when struck and given appropriate abuse, making it the standard for live sound - a hammer that should be in every live sound toolbox . There are mics that sound better for specific purposes, but the SM58 marks a point where cheaper mics tend to be junk and better mics cost more money (and probably still aren't as durable). Good for vocals or as an instrument mic (same as the SM57 except for the windscreen which has a *small* impactโ€ฆ

Iconic, durable, but most of all they just sound better!

Look, here it is. The 58 is the MOST microphone, having been around since the 1950s. If you are unfamiliar with microphones, your best bet is to go to YouTube and watch live performances by any band or singer. You will most likely see the SM58 (or its wireless version). The thing is just iconic. Dynamic range is really something else. It's not too light. Not too dark. It captures the entire spectrum of sound. BUT they are also damn strong. You can drop them (I'm 6'4" and have dropped mine manyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Almost never
