Description of Shurhold 3153 Microfiber Bonnet

The Brite Bonnet Pad is a shaggy microfiber pad used to remove excess wax and buff your surface to a final shine. For best results, use at the slowest speed setting. For use with the Dual Action Polisher. Not compatible with the PRO Rotary Polisher or Dual Action Polisher Pro. For best care of your bonnet, hand wash when done and air dry.

not bad and would buy again

The hood works better than hand polishing but it lost points due to the plastic lining inside. After removing the hood several times, it broke. Now I just apply the wax by hand and take it off with a buffer, but I'll probably buy it again.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Frequency

The missing part of the Shurhold system!

I highly recommend getting a microfiber cover to remove haze after professional polishing with a buffing pad. It is simply slipped onto the pad and allows the veil to be removed easily and effectively. I used to have to use a microfiber cloth to manually remove the veil. This hood has eliminated that time-consuming process.

Pros
  • Hard wearing finish
Cons
  • Durability

No Suede Top

I have previously purchased a Shurhold top and wanted to add a few more to polish the boat. Saw them at Revain and ordered them. I have pads, not hoods. Considered returning them but bought a 5" baseplate instead. They should work fine for my application, but I would prefer hats that Shurhold no longer makes.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • No Instructions

Tech idiots or money extortion

Serious downgrade of the original "hood". Pulling the applicator on and off every time you want to polish will ruin it so you end up buying 3 times as many wax applicators as the backing comes off. I'm sure these buffers are separated from both support and permanent delete. This is just a scam to trick you into continuing to buy their product. Finally, get ready for calls as the metal baseplate can now hit anything.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not the best

Mislisted on fabrics

Very small (5 inches in diameter) compared to 8 inches on Amazon website and 7.5 in specs on Shurhold website. Also, the videos on Shurhold's website show a cap that fits over a 6.5 inch buff and has a vapor barrier. This is a velcro. I think it might be fake. the page is wrong, it's just shurhold.com without the "www". Haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty crappy. UPDATE: Spoke to Surhold. That works fine. It's just frustrating when you see all the Shurhold videos with a big hood that can…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Low repairability
