Sidekiq is the most powerful queuing solution, and it has a robust plugin ecosystem. The ability to configure it to have multiple queues is unique, and you don't need to install additional software to do it. It is easy to use and to configure, and there is a very active and diverse community behind it. No major issues. I like how it can handle lots of concurrent jobs at once without worrying about resource usage. I am also solving a problem of having to scale up my server quickly to support a…

Pros
  • Configurable concurrency limit per worker instance much higher than other solutions we tried beforeSidekik does provide good documentation which helped me understand what was going wrong when things go bad.It works well if your application needs background tasks processing such as sending emails etc
Cons
  • Not free
  • You cannot run more workers simultaneously

A great alternative for running asynchronous tasks

The fact that it's ruby and not java is a huge plus. The fact that it's distributed and not shared is a huge plus. With sidekiq, I have a queue of work to be done and I can use the same worker to do several jobs at once. It's not very easy to start using sidekiq, but once you get the hang of it, it makes your application feel more responsive. I can't think of anything I dislike about sidekiq. It's the perfect way to offload background jobs that otherwise would have been a bottleneck in our…

Pros
  • This was made clear when i recently started playing around trying new things within rails environment by working through railscast episodes while utilizing ryan batey’s screencast oauth2 project template as reference
Cons
  • Almost everything is ok

I like that it is easy to use through console or API call as well! It has been very helpful in scaling up my side projects by using its ability of handling multiple jobs at once which helps me reduce time taken from development cycle compared with other tools available out there sucha cronjobs etc!! Nothing much but i have heard some feedback regarding memory usage so make sure you set proper values if needed. Also check their roadmap before choosing one because things can change anytime…

Pros
  • Simple
  • Easy integration for workers, webhooks.
  • Robust concurrency model where many tasks run concurrently
  • Flexibility around how your async task runs background / delayed_job mode/
  • But works great overall
Cons
  • Nothing

Great cloud desktop software for remote teams

I like that it's easy to integrate with other services (e-mail providers). It also makes my life easier by having workers pick up tasks from queue rather than me doing them manually all day long! The UI is very basic - not as user friendly or intuitive when compared against some of its competitors in this space such at Amazon WorkSpaces/Azure RemoteApp etc.. However these are minor points really if you're looking just out there because they can be easily configured once your happy using their…

Pros
  • Also has an excellent API available making interfacing between different systems much simpler / seamless process..etc..Also integrates seamlessly into many platforms including email clients e mail servers , slack chat channels among others...very flexible system indeed !!!
Cons
  • Not quite sure how exactly i'd rate what neg
