A little flimsy but fully functional

The adapter arrived quickly, at least 2 days ahead of schedule. I opened it up, removed the cable management panel from my desktop, installed it and it was up and running in 5 or 10 minutes. As long as it keeps working at full power. However, I had an issue with the shrink tubing at the junction of the cable and 20-pin connector. It seems that the last process was overlooked. It was an easy fix, but I was concerned that the tube would either come loose on its own or I'd hit it when installingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Lasts over 3 years with no problems

I bought one of these adapters for an old LGA1155 PC that has been running in a newer case for the past 3 years. I finally updated this build and this adapter is no longer needed, but I wanted to come back and give a positive review after so many years. Typically, adapters like this for this type of thing are notorious for lasting a few months before dying from a power surge or poor build quality. but this adapter has lasted all 3 years with regular use, no problem. Definitely worth the $5

Pros
  • New to my collection

Works on Lenovo K450 motherboard

Used for Lenovo K450 motherboard in Corsair case with standard 20 pin USB 3.0 connector. I bought this without looking at the PCB and didn't realize it was a 2x6 connector instead of the standard USB 2.0 2x5 connector. I plugged it in but it didn't work unless the computer was in bios. To fix this, it turns out that the 2 pins I haven't used are there to tell if something is connected. You can put a jumper on these pins and it will work all the time. Tested with iPhone and it loads images. fast

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Clarity

Does its job well Good for computers and accessories

This product does its job well; My mistake was that I bought it thinking it would work like 3.0. Because I wasn't careful when buying and didn't do my research properly, I paid more; but for those who want to make their ports 3.0 to 2.0 there will be no problems. SIENOC USB 3.0 20 pin does a good job of converting and delivers the necessary speed for 2.0 ports.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers

Success! Works, easy install.

The motherboard did not have a USB 3.0 connector for the USB ports on the front of the case. This changed the USB 2.0 port on the motherboard to a USB 3.0 port. The USB ports on the front of the case are now working (at USB 2.0 speeds, of course). Installs easily and requires no drivers to function. plug and play Exactly what I needed and since most USB drives that use front panel ports are USB 2.0 this works great.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Nothing

Works as intended but person feels unreliable.

I used this to put an old Inspiron 580 motherboard in a Fractal Designs case. (Why? Because I could.) I needed to connect a USB 3.0 port to a USB 2.0 port on my cell phone. worked fine On the USB 3 side, there was a noticeable gap between the connector and the cable. As if they forgot to press. One of the pins was bent but I was able to straighten it. It's been working fine for the past month. For this reason I recommend it.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Out of fashion

The smallest wires ever, but it does the job.

Nothing to explain how much current you need to draw from it but I'm telling you the wires are so small please don't try to draw more than 500mA from them. It can burn out due to the physics here and Ohm's law. The resulting wires are almost resistors. So for flash drives and other things, they're great. Plug in a cell phone and the phone cannot even charge at high speed, causing my phone to say "Charging slowly" when using this adapter, even though my phone uses USB 2.0 to begin with (and onโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Can do harm

Much better than two useless ports

Converts a USB 3.0 port to a USB 2.0 port. My mobo is older and doesn't have USB 3.0 ports, but my case is newer and has 2 USB 3.0 ports on the front. This allowed me to use the USB 3.0 ports on the front as USB 2.0. Much better than having 2 useless ports. Exactly what I needed until I put together a new computer.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Not the best
