A new and rewarding experience!

Arrived on time and in perfect condition. Ever since I put it in the case of my Alpha 100, I've never had to change it. The photos are very good and it gives the camera a very professional look. Performance in all conditions I tested (day, night indoors) was great! This is the best lens for those who have too much to do in less time. He adapts to every situation.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Exchange possible

Not a bad lens, but not what I wanted.

When I bought this lens I didn't realize that it was designed for macro photography. The lens performs well in this regard, with perhaps some softness at full zoom. However, I was hoping to find a lens that would perform as well as the 75-300mm lens that came with my a100. Unfortunately, this lens cannot capture distant objects clearly, which may be asking too much on my part.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Clarity

Very good for the price

I received this lens, very handy for a 28-300 as I don't have to change lenses often. It's great, the picture is very good. The zoom is amazing. Picture quality and colors are very good. There is a little stiffness when zooming in, but I think it will go away with use. I feel the autofocus is a bit slow to find the right focus. But I haven't tried to really compare a lens with such a zoom yet. I still use my 18-70 lens for people and wide angle shots. In the end, for the price, it's really…

My workhorse is the best lens in Lenses

I use this on my Sony a300 as my standard lens and it's better than the lenses that come with the camera; It seems much more durable and the photos are clearer. I have literally taken thousands of photos with this lens. Personally, I haven't had any of the autofocus issues that others have reported. My only minor complaint is that the zoom lock button doesn't work really well; The weight of the lens itself seems to loosen the latch, so it tends to pop out if you carry the camera off. And it…

Great value all round lens for the money

This is a great value and very versatile lens if you don't expect perfection. Not as sharp as lenses costing 3-4 times as much (big surprise), but still good enough for most hobbyists. I bought it as one of my vacation and travel lenses. I don't like to carry a bag and multiple lenses with me when I travel, but I needed a large zoom range at a low price. It fills the bill perfectly. I'm a bit disappointed with the telephoto aspect of this lens. My Tamron 75-300 gets subjects much closer than…
