Works great out of the box with Mandriva Linux.

Works great in Linux systems. The drives run smoothly and quickly. Too bad Mac OSX doesn't recognize the card on a PowerMac G5 or G4. I wouldn't even consider using this card or any other SATA card on a Windows computer. Actually, I would never own a Windows machine, but that's another story. Good luck folks.

Pros
  • Breaks the 137GB barrier! Supports various brands of high capacity Serial ATA hard drives
Cons
  • Very expensive

WILL NOT WORK in new IDE motherboards

Prevents a SATA hard drive from being used as a data drive in a system with a motherboard IDE. The system does not boot with the card installed.

Pros
  • Supports two Serial ATA hard drives with high transfer rates up to 1.5 Gb/s (150 MB/s)
Cons
  • Has bug

This is a GREAT card

I have decided to build a home server on a budget. I'm using an old PC that only has PCI slots (no PC Express). But it still has a 64-bit processor and my main reason for buying it was storing a ton of data along with remote access. I bought Windows 8 Professional, additional RAM, and two Seagate 3TB hard drives. When I plugged them in, the system only recognized them as 700MB drives. I contacted Seagate and they said I need newer hard drive controller drivers (which are on the motherboard). We

No customer support

I bought this card to work with a Western Digital 1TB drive. Even though I was only using the new drive for storage, my computer refused to boot with the card and drive attached. Oddly enough, if the drive is plugged in AFTER the computer has booted up, the card and drive work fine. (The drive can be hot-swapped.) After checking the various PCI slots, flashing the motherboard and card BIOS, updating all the latest drivers, and a few other things, it still won't boot unless that The drive and…
