Although the sound card itself works quite well, the software that comes with it doesn't allow your music players to play 5.1 sound. If you call the company's tech support (""Trung") (find them in the online phone book), it tells you it will only play 2.1 unless you buy another program for it $100. So is it really cheap? In fact, after many hours of googling, I couldn't find any software that did what they said and they didn't recommend any particular program. I was able to get Winamp to switch

This card had faulty software/drivers. Although it delivered audio, it was barely usable as the card picked up a lot of internal noise (beeping and buzzing). I ended up throwing it away and buying a slightly more expensive but much better quality one. If you're really on a tight budget, it's not worth your time.

I bought this card earlier today and so far so good. It's affordable, installation was quick and easy (I'm not a techie), and the sound quality is great. Another reason I bought it is that unlike some other cards I've tested, it's backward compatible with Win 98SE.

This review is for the updated IC-510012-S2 model which replaced the IC-510012. Disabled in BIOS"On-Board Sound" (this needs to be done). Installed fee. Turn on your computer. Put on CD. Startup Settings. Connect speakers (no power, power will be switched later). With only 2 speakers. DONE! First time works. For a $16 board, that's more than I expected. Bought as a sound card replacement for my built in sound card. This PCI card was easy to install, works great and hasn't had any issues so far.
