Description of SP 1TB - NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen3x4 2280 TLC Solid State Drive (SP001TBP34A60M28)

PCIe Gen 3x4 interface with read speeds up to 2,200MB/s and write speeds up to 1,600MB/s. TBW=600. The warranty terms on all of its SSDs are based on whether the warranty length or TBW limit occurs first. To support a Silicon Power PCIe SSD, the system must have an M. 2 connector with only an M key. The Silicon Power PCIe SSD does not have a b notch and therefore, the b key on the SSD connector will prevent it from being inserted. The custom screw should come with the motherboard or PC. Please acquire the screw from your motherboard or PC Manufacturer, if needed.

Using it for Xbox One X makes a huge difference

I spent a little more to get an NVMe drive versus a SATA drive for the future. I'm aware that the benefits (over SATA) of using USB 3.0 on my One X are not realized, but compared to an external or internal hard drive it makes a huge difference. Loading time is 1/3 of what it used to be. Driving was the biggest thing in Forza Horizon 4, fast travel is instantaneous, cars load during race selection, and switching cars is also almost instantaneous. In addition, the game starts (as I said) 1/3…

Quickly! This makes most games look like game cartridges.

Plays most games like cartridges. Too fast for games. Because in most cases, reading in the game does not even reach half the speed stated in the specification. But it makes loading games faster than a SATA SSD. This NVME SSD is cheaper than some SATA SSDs. installed on the B350 Tomahawk. Speed is good, almost up to spec. I only use it for gaming, most people don't read or write. Temperatures below 60°C with some airflow from GTX1080 over SSD. When recording files over 1020G continuously…

Almost to the point for internal SSDs

- Tested on System (AMD 3400G, 32GB DDR4 3000 and ASROCK Fat1lty B350 Motherboard) In the M.2 PCIE 3.0 slot, this drive is rated for 2200 read speeds MB/s and clock speeds of around 1900 MB/s for files from 256 KB to 64 MB. Reading slows down for files smaller than 256 KB. The drive is designed for a write speed of 1600 MB/s and a clock speed of 1560 MB/s for most files from 32 KB to 64 MB. With one terrible exception, 8MB. For some reason, when the file size approaches 8 MB, the write speed…

Two DOA disks. in memory

Be careful when buying, I ordered two because of the price and the many positive reviews from well-known companies such as PNY, Crucial or WD. Against common sense I bought two and got struck by lightning twice. Both discs were DOA. At first I thought it was my adapter so I bought new adapters but when both weren't recognized I popped the drives it was supposed to be replacing into the new adapters and it immediately popped out. I then moved those two drives to four different stations: two…

Died 45 days after purchase

Mine died 45 days after order (July 25, 2020 - September 8, 2020). It ran (probably) slightly faster than my standard Critical mx500 SATA SSD, but with twice the capacity. So honestly I wouldn't complain. I was impressed with the ease of installation, but while I was enjoying another Crusader Kings marathon game a month and a half later; My windows crashed and failed to load. It turned out that M.2 was not recognized after the crash and it took a few minutes to go through the first boot on the…

  • I'm worried

I don't understand all the positive reviews.

I've been using it for more than 6 months and I can't say anything positive. Reviews should come from first-time SSD owners. If so, that's a bit sad, it's not an SSD, it's an NVME SSD, those should be way better. I do not recommend this to anyone, it is unable to perform well under heavy use. The speed drops off very quickly and I feel like you've got the edge with a standard SSD that can handle a steady workload over time. I have to regularly restart my computer with moderate to heavy usage…

Pros
  • The warranty terms for all its SSDs are based on what comes first: the warranty period or the TBW limit.
Cons
  • Negative impression
