This spoon holder is perfect for what I need it for. I make coffee sometimes so I use it to put the spoon I used for sugar on it. This spoon holder doesn't hold large utensils like spatulas, serving spoons and the like very well. He's holding them, but they stick out a bit, so keep that in mind. For washing, you can hand wash or throw in the dishwasher. We made both and had no issues with discoloration or sauce stains.
