My Opinion: I need these trays for a few things. First, if I decide to eat something in bed, all liquids, crumbs, etc. will clearly stay in the bowl. I also use this to pry my laptop out as I don't think holding it directly on my lap is a good idea. This wooden tray serves all these purposes and is easy to clean. I think a bit of felt on the bottom could have been used to prevent scratches, but depending on usage this may not be necessary.

This is pretty close to what I expected based on the photos. I read other reviews complaining about the smell. I am reporting this tray in my gazebo as I hope the SAME SMELL dissipates. The coloring is beautiful. However, there are imperfections such as small dents in part of the handle and a splinter or fragment painted over on the bottom of the tray near the fold where the wood flows together near the center of the tray along its length. If the smell doesn't go away, I won't use it for eating

This wooden tray arrived quickly and undamaged. It was new in a box. Well packaged, it was not scratched or wrinkled during transport. The tray has no strange odors or odors to overcome. It has the expected light woody smell, but nothing harsh or weird. The tray has a smooth surface. No splinters or anything else gross to be seen. It is very well painted with very glossy black paint.
