Easy to install and quiet

I never use the fan/heatsink that came with the CPU and thought it should help. It is not only easy to install, but also quiet. I'm still in the process of grappling with this, but for now I would use this provider again in the future. 'Very impressive. -- It was installed on an 8th generation i3 processor clocked at 3.6 GHz. Thanks very much!

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Legacy model

It's good, but with some limitations

The heatsink is no different from the standard Intel solution in terms of cooling, but there are some problems. or pull the radiator pins to install them. Rotation of the fairing was not possible because the plastic clips did not line up with the slots in the radiator fins. I could tell it was hand carved and had no choice but to cut the plastic clips so I could move the sheathing properly. The height is not exactly as stated, it is a few millimeters too high. I still had plenty of room toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • I won't say anything

There are screws under the fan to hit it. Why?

For the low profile use people buy it for (to fit into Silverstone cases) it fits but is poorly constructed. 1. There are screws under the fan blades. Make sure you pull the fan higher as the screws are poorly placed and 2. it's very noisy. Most people make them for small cars so they can be hidden, but the volume they make won't help in this situation. Basically, it sounds like the computer was on all the time. The fan that came with the case failed but was much better with real copper on itโ€ฆ

Big lack of CPU fans

I am a big fan of SilverStone products. I have 5 computer cases and just bought a power supply from them, but I can't recommend this cooler. Unless assembled incorrectly, the legs will sit at an angle, not perpendicular to the MOBO. I could not attach it to MOBO. Maybe it could be forced installed, but it's cheaper to buy a new fan than a new MOBO. Also, even though it's advertised as low-profile, it's too big for a 1U case.

Pros
  • Complete kit
Cons
  • Security

Easy to install into computer components

This is a great product for those tired of the plastic clips holding their CPU cooler. Eventually ours burst and didn't last anymore. This cooler attaches with spring-loaded screws, meaning you have to press really hard to keep it on the motherboard, but it works great for our purpose. The CPU is a mid-range i5 in an ambient temperature version.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Cheap and inconspicuous

I use it to cool a Xeon E3-1246 v3 CPU, 8 threads, 84 W TDP, in a very small ITX case with Proxmox and some VMs. Idle around 40 degrees. Under full synthetic load, temperatures soar to over 80 degrees and it's a bit noisy, but be aware that this processor is basically an i7 4790 and can all fit in a purse. Under normal conditions, it usually stays below 60ยฐC. The stock Intel cooler dissipates heat a little better, but it's too big for my case. For less than $28, I definitely recommend thisโ€ฆ

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Can damage
