These things are absolute GARBAGE! DO NOT waste your time and money on these things. Some of these broke right out of the packaging. The pens are too long and do not work. The one I was able to take to work burned out within a week. **UPDATE** The seller got it right. After I contacted the seller about my issues, everything was resolved. G4 bulb is not standard. They are available in 1-1/4" and 1-1/2" sizes. Both sizes are available in different capacities. It is short and suitable for all uses. If you want a short one and buy a long one, it won't fit. These lamps work well and I recommend that you buy them so as not to risk being left with a long lamp. Focus on getting performance that matches the rest of your array or your application needs and you will be completely satisfied.

The G4 bulbs on my dining room light have 0.7mm thick pins. I bought these halogen bulbs from Simba Lighting and most bulbs have 0.8mm to 0.83mm pins. There were four lamps from two boxes of 10 each measuring 0.7mm. I bought a branded T3, G4 base halogen bulb for landscape lighting and it had 0.7mm pins. So I think these bulbs are out of spec. Please see the attached photo which shows the dimensions of the standard G4 and these lamps with calipers.

I think these lamps are either fake or not made correctly. The first bulb I installed shorted out the whole fixture, now I have to buy a new fixture. The second bulb I tried in another fixture didn't even fully work until I removed the new bulb. I was afraid of shorting out the second light so I didn't try the bulbs again. Something is wrong here. UPDATE: Two lamps need to be replaced. Defective bulbs have short-circuited both ballasts/lights! Replacing both will cost me $250!

I bought these because they cost significantly less per bulb than the ones I bought at the local hardware store and they were identical. When I got them I needed to replace a burned out bulb so I tried new ones. To my surprise, unlike the bulbs I used, I couldn't fit new ones into the socket. Unfortunately these are low quality lamps. They are made of very poor quality filament and will burn out very quickly. The specifications indicate a lifespan of 2000 hours. It's not even close. My K****r (high quality) landscape light burns an average of 10 hours a day and the bulbs last a month or less. 10 hours x 30 days = 300 hours (or less)!
