Simplicity Vintage Fashion 60's Tin Box Sewing Kit for Travel, 7.5 Inches Long x 4.5 Inches Wide x 1.2 Inches High Review

Okay, I like the design, but I wasn't expecting it to be just a little tin can with a thin magnet attached with tape. Maybe I didn't read the description carefully, but it seemed to me that the bottom itself is magnetic, or at least the magnet is under the bottom of the case, and not on it. Since it is taped in place, all 4 sides will be lifted. I had to take it off and re-glue it.

This is a nice tin that appears to be well made. I love the classic Simplicity pattern on the top cap. Inside is a matte gold box. I bought two of these boxes and use one for pens and pencils and the other for manicure supplies. I think it made sense for Simplicity to reuse their vintage patterns for boxes, bags and other things today. I have a few of their items alongside these boxes and I love them all.

Product exactly as described and arrived in good condition. However, I have found that the smooth metal finish makes it difficult to grip the pins and needles that are inside. I mainly use 10 and 12 gauge hand sewing needles, which are relatively small and thin. When they are flat they stick very well. So good that trying to pick it up results in you having to push the pin until you can twist it into a corner to "roll" it far enough to be grabbed. It may be easier if you have long and/or thin…
