Ideal for handling wire harnesses

Unstitched; I actually bought this to work with wire harnesses. A seam ripper is one of the best ways to quickly remove spools or jacketing from wires without cutting or notching the wires inside. This ripper actually comes with a lid so it doesn't bump into things when not in use or get bored banging around in your toolbox. The lid serves as a handle. It could have been spicier but I wasn't expecting much for less than $5.

No cap and very short

Every other seam ripper I've ever seen had a cap. This one doesn't, although one of the photos shows a cap. I thought the cap was on the end of the ripper in the package to show the working end of the ripper. Not correct. In addition to protecting the sharp point, a cap is often used to increase the length of the ripper, making it much easier to use and also lost. I feel ripped off, no pun intended. I've had great faith in Singer products over the years and now an inexpensive accessory has made

I love these seam openers!

More than 50 years ago my husband bought me a sewing machine for our first Christmas together. I bought a Seam Ripper and attached the lid to the side pocket of the car.
