My only gripe is the lack of a pre-printed 1/4" line. I drew it on the underside with permanent marker, but printed in white, like the lid that comes with the machine, it would be better seen against the dark bobbin case, otherwise it fits perfectly.

(woman replies) I have several Singer sewing machines and this part keeps breaking. I order several at a time so I always have one if it breaks. I remove and replace the spool cover very carefully, but the plastic tab eventually breaks and you cannot use it afterwards. At least I can find parts and they aren't too expensive.

This is just what I needed for my Singer Fashion Mate. The previous piece didn't break and "pop" out of the stitch plate when I opened it up, but this one works great. The one that came on my machine had a white line on the 1/4 inch seam allowance line I used to sew the quilt and I was a little disappointed. I couldn't find one already marked, but I was able to easily draw the line where I wanted. It's probably better if it's blank in case you want to mark it elsewhere.
