Enhanced SiriusXM Vehicle Docking Station SXVD1(A) Review

They used to last a while but now they're just junk. I ordered one and it said it was an antenna fault. They sent a replacement and the same. For this reason I threw away a brand new antenna and then read other reviews. I am now past the return date and have left with the radio not working due to repeated attempts to get it to work. The company knows this is an issue, but hasn't fixed the issue yet.

I already have three of these devices and while they can work in a car they don't seem to withstand vibration when mounted on a motorcycle handlebar. . A few months after installation I had problems connecting the antenna, and six months later the plastic connector for the AUX output broke. If I don't like satellite radio I would just skip the whole process.

These radio docking stations are unforgiving if they don't work properly. When I bought my Onyx radio I had to replace it with a Sirius 3 times because the antenna connector didn't work. So far there have always been problems with it. Eventually the VHF jack was the cause of the short and the base had to be replaced. Bought and the FM jack doesn't work at all. I am disappointed. I bought this dock to replace my old one which broke. However, the new one doesn't work well - the connector that the antenna plugs into has a very weak connection. I push the connector really hard to get a signal, then drive and drive over a bump or around a corner and the XM radio dies because of "no antenna connection". Since it works intermittently, I kept playing around with it. I had to replace it within a month of a return.

The description shows the same radio compatibility as the complete set. However, the docking station arrived with only one mounting plate (pre-installed). (I think a complete set consists of three mounting/trim plates suitable for different radios). Although the description states that this dock is compatible with OnyX Plus, it does not include a mounting/sliding plate to be true. I'm not sure which mounting plate was installed, but the OnyX Plus didn't fit in the dock.
