When I first bought this adapter I was bad and didn't read that it required 45W power distribution. But after reading this and getting myself a portable battery pack and wall charger that is at least 45W, this has become essential for me. I travel a lot and go to festivals and congresses as a freelance journalist and really only need one cable and plug-in power supply for everything. It's a little more expensive than I think but not enough to give it one star.

Charging my Surface Pro on the go was one of the problems I had when traveling. There were expensive power supplies that I could buy to fill this need. I stumbled upon this Surface Pro to USB-C appease cable and bought it in hopes that I could use one of my existing PD power banks for charging on the go. Well this cable is just what I needed. It charges perfectly with my PD power bank. I highly recommend this product. The quality is excellent, the cable length is longer than necessary.

I've had an official Microsoft charger and an OEM replacement, both faulty (one makes a high pitched squeak and the other interferes with the keyboard touchpad). If you're also using this with an iPad USB-C, you've bought this cable and a USB-C power bank that can charge both devices. Nice compact charger! The USB-C socket is oddly embedded in the shroud, making it feel like a slightly less secure connection, but that didn't detract from use, hence -1 star. You can tell if it's yours by reading the beautiful text found on almost every charger. At first I thought mine was defective as the light was on but the Surface wasn't charging. Using USB-C for Surface is a bit tricky - you need to make sure your power adapter is producing the minimum voltage and current (and therefore power). I did this from two different sources and this cable didn't work. I bought another cable and it worked fine every time. Where the cable meets the Surface Connection port, something appears to be disconnected. I am very satisfied with the quality of the Surface Connect to USB-C charging cable.
